I am so jealous…

John Barrowman + David Tennant + goofing around in the  TARDIS = Fangirl Heaven!

If only someone could throw in  Christopher Eccleston…and John Simm…and James Marsters…

Now that’s something to contemplate.

A girl can dream, after all.

BEST NEWS EVER!

Citizens rejoice! Your Lord and Master John Simm is returning to Doctor Who!

OMG! OMG! OMG!

[excuse me, I have to go fangirl now.]

Rose (Billie Piper) is also returning as are the other former companions Martha (Freema Agyeman) and Donna (Catherine Tate) for the 10th Doctor’s final episode [no news about Jack (John Barrowman) though :( ] After that, Matt Smith takes over for David Tennant and Steven Moffat takes over for Russell T. Davies…not to mention a full season of Doctor Who again. Yay!

Of course the important question is, will he do another sexy dance routine?

Please say yes. Please…

Can Anyone Say Anti-Climax?

[Too tired to separate things so just warning v. spoilerific post. don't read unless you want to know]

After the build up that was Turn Left and The Stolen Earth I find Journey’s End a bit of a disappointment. Not that I didn’t have fun seeing everyone reunited it’s just everything felt crammed and it was too much yet too little and…erg…everyone got their happy endings [well, happy enough endings] except for Donna…who probably deserved it just as much as they did. Life’s unfair but I thought DW is about making individuals realize their inner brilliance and thanks to the twist Donna,  THE BEST COMPANION EVER, reverts back to her old self. It’s sad. It’s more than sad, it’s a tragedy.

Speaking of tragedies…that last frame of Ten’s face. Ah, lonely again…I’m still musing over how I feel about the Rose/Doctor ending. It just felt so wrong. So she gets her human Doctor. It’s him but it’s not him. And they can get married, have babies, go on adventures. But it’s not right. I would have rather she kicked them both out of the beach. And kissing Ten#2 just because he finally says [whispers actually] I love you when the heartbreak behind Ten#1’s “Does it have to be said?” comment is so audible. Bah. She (or the writers) just chose the easy way out and part of me wishes she they never reunited.

And then there’s the ”That’s me when you first met me” comment. Doctor, when I first met you you were Christopher Eccleston so could you please please be him again? Now a Rose/Nine ending I would have embraced wholeheartedly (I think I read somewhere in the net but I can’t remember where that the Rose/Nine was a more mature relationship compared to Rose/Ten which seemed more like a high-school crush thing…anyway, I agree)

But can I just say, Woohoo Cybermen! Woohoo David Morissey! Woohoo Stephen Moffat 2010!

and I wonder if the Daleks will ever return again. They’re like cockroaches, they just don’t die.

Wha…Da…Frak?

No!

Nooooo!

Noooooooooooooooooooooo!

[...gathering ability to use thought process...]

okay, so first of all youtube erases my favorite doctor who account (where I’ve been watching the recent series) so I had to spend an extra 3 hours downloading the torrent for my weekly fix of Doctor Who (how I am going to survive 2009 without my weekly DW fix is beyond me.)

In the meantime, I got tempted so I read the spoilers…sheepish grin…again, spoilers don’t really spoil me. I mean there’s less surprise but the excitement and emotion is still there. I just really really needed to know.

Anyway…if I were live blogging it would look something like this….

[MAJOR SPOILERS. DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW]

The Week in Obsessions: 06.22.08

Well, I’m too lazy to review so instead, I’ll gush over the things that are currently in my mind

TV:

Two words: [Spoiler] Bad Wolf [Spoiler]

Aaaaaaaaah!

Can I just skip Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday? Can it be Sunday already so I can watch Doctor Who again?

Music:

Louange à l’immortalité de Jésus (“Praise to the immortality of Jesus”) by Olivier Messaien from Quatour pour la fin du temps (“Quartet for the End of Time”) is just so heartbreakingly beautiful, it makes time stop.

Waldeck’s Ballroom Stories makes me wanna dance. nuff said.

Wala Lang:

Isn’t Neil gorgeous in this?

gah. I really need to stop crushing on British men over 40.

Squeeeeeeee!

Turn Left (Doctor Who S4 Ep11) is AWESOME!

Midnight (Ep10) is still my fave this series but oh waiting for the next episode (The Stolen Earth) is going to be soooooo long.

And speaking of The Stolen Earth…

The Doctor! Rose! Jack! Donna! Jackie! Mickey! Martha! Sarah! Why are Gwen and Ianto not in the picture? And where’s K-9? The next best thing would be a Nine cameo but that’s not going to happen. huhu. I miss my doctor.

Anyway… back to life. Oh grumble, real life is so boring compared to Whoverse.

ah ahm vahmpyrrr!

"Vous m’avez dit “Je t’aime.” Je vous ai it “Attendez.” J’ai Presque dit “Oui.” Vous avez dit “Partez.”" (You told me “I love you.” I told you “Wait.” I almost said “Yes.” You said “Go away.”) ~ from Jules et Jim by Francois Truffaut

Wicked Girls Saving Ourselves
by Seanan McGuire
(2008)

Wendy played fair, and she played by the rules that they gave her;
They say she grew up and grew old -- Peter Pan couldn't save her.
They say she went home, and she never looked back,
Got her feet on the ground, got her life on its track.
She's the patron saint priestess of all the lost girls who got found.
And she once had her head in the clouds, but she died on the ground.

Dorothy just wanted something that she could believe in,
A gray dustbowl girl in a life she was better off leavin'.
She made her escape, went from gray into green,
And she could have got clear, and she could have got clean,
But she chose to be good and go back to the gray Kansas sky
Where color's a fable and freedom's a fairy tale lie.

Dorothy, Alice and Wendy and Jane,
Susan and Lucy, we're calling your names,
All the Lost Girls who came out of the rain
And chose to go back on the shelf.
Tinker Bell says, and I find I agree
You have to break rules if you want to break free.
So do as you like -- we're determined to be
Wicked girls saving ourselves.

Alice got lost, and I guess that we really can't blame her;
They say she got tangled and tied in the lies that became her.
They say she went mad, and she never complained,
For there's peace of a kind in a life unconstrained.
She gives Cheshire kisses, she's easy with white rabbit smiles,
And she'll never be free, but she's won herself safe for a while.

Susan and Lucy were queens, and they ruled well and proudly.
They honored their land and their lord, rang the bells long and loudly.
They never once asked to return to their lives
To be children and chattel and mothers and wives,
But the land cast them out in a lesson that only one learned;
And one queen said 'I am not a toy', and she never returned.

Mandy's a pirate, and Mia weaves silk shrouds for faeries,
And Deborah will pour you red wine pressed from sweet poisoned berries.
Kate poses riddles and Mary plays tricks,
While Kaia builds towers from brambles and sticks,
And the rules that we live by are simple and clear:
Be wicked and lovely and don't live in fear --

For we will be wicked and we will be fair
And they'll call us such names, and we really won't care,
So go, tell your Wendys, your Susans, your Janes,
There's a place they can go if they're tired of chains,
And our roads may be golden, or broken, or lost,
But we'll walk on them willingly, knowing the cost --
We won't take our place on the shelves.
It's better to fly and it's better to die
Say the wicked girls saving ourselves.
