So, Chard and I got to Fully Booked, Bonifacio High Street at around 2pm and immediately started browsing (5 floors of books! heaven!) I turned around and started walking, not really paying attention to where I was going when I almost bumped into someone. Fortunately, said someone saw me not looking and avoided me. I looked up and…

OH MY GOSH I JUST ALMOST BUMPED INTO NEIL GAIMAN!

erm, is it weird if I say I wish I actually bumped into him?

My second thought was, where’s Chard? And when I finally found him, we lurked around for about a minute and then, of course, Neil got noticed and a group of girls approached him for a picture. And then a crowd started gathering. Neil apologized and said he had to go. Chard managed to catch him mid-flight and get a handshake. The event hadn’t even started yet and we were already giddy with happiness (haha, how redundant of me but…well…there’s no other way to describe it.)

It rained a bit. Neil actually introduced Mike to everyone. The winners of the 2nd Philippine Graphic/Fiction Awards were announced. Some people won prizes (not me…why is it I’m never lucky at raffles?) and I finally got to watch “A Short Film About John Bolton” and it was exactly what I imagined a Neil Gaiman film would look like. 

…And speaking of short films, he also announced that the 3rd Philippine Graphic/Fiction Awards will have a 3rd category–short film! So c’mon guys, we have a whole year to prepare! Haha. Only when I passed by Lyle Sacris and Quark Henares, I heard them talking about joining. Oh, good luck to us lesser endowed people (at least monetarily speaking.)

So thus ends Neil’s second visit to the Philippines. Haaay, back to the real world for me.
